Prowler Online Academy is designed for students who want flexibility without sacrificing connection, rigor, or opportunity. We meet students where they are at and help them grow toward where they want to be!

Prowler Online Academy offers the flexibility of virtual learning with the support and connection of a traditional school community.

Students enrolled in the Online Academy remain part of Thief River Falls Public Schools and have opportunities to participate in Activities and Athletics.

Please be aware that all participants will be held to the same Academic & Behavioral Eligibility Expectations as our in-person students. View the Handbook section below for further details.

All courses in the Online Academy are aligned to Minnesota Academic Standards, ensuring a high-quality, consistent education, and elective courses are designed to meet fine arts and practical arts credit requirements. In addition, courses are taught by instructors that are certified by the State of Minnesota.

Grading

• Prowler Online Academy adheres to the same grading policies as Lincoln High School (9-12) and Franklin Middle School (6-8).

• Grades in online courses are assigned by the teacher of record through Edmentum.

• Each student's assigned learning coach/advisor enters and updates grades in ParentVUE by the end of all grading periods.

Transcripts

• Courses completed through Prowler Online Academy appear on student transcripts and are identified as "Prowler Online Academy".

• Transcripts are maintained in alignment with district and state requirements to support postsecondary planning.

College & NCAA Eligibility

• Students planning to complete NCAA athletics should review eligibility requirements with a school counselor to ensure course alignment and compliance.

Prowler Online Academy coursework carries the same academic expectations and accountability as courses offered in a traditional school setting.

Each student is provided with a learning device and access to technical support when needed.

Instruction is provided asynchronously every school day, giving students the ability to complete work on their own schedule.

Students are expected to make consistent academic progress. Shown by logging in and actively working at least five days each week and staying on pace with their coursework.

Students who receive Special Education services, English Learner support, or who have 504 plans, are provided with the services and accommodations they need to succeed. Other support services are additionally available.
