Course Change Information

Lincoln High School Schedule Change Policy (starting 2025–2026)

Lincoln High School is committed to quality education and offers a wide range of electives. We aim to balance academic load and class sizes while considering student requests. However, students may be enrolled in courses they did not request and are expected to remain in their classes for the full term.

Schedule changes are very limited this year. Below is a list of reasons we will do our best to change your schedule and reasons why we won’t. Schedule change must be completed before the class starts as teachers need to prepare for the students in their rooms.

Schedule Changes will only be considered for the following reasons:
  • Missing a Core Class (Math, Science, English, Social Studies, or graduation requirement)
  • Need to retake a failed course
  • IEP, 504 plan, or Legal Requirement
  • Scheduling Error (e.g., duplicate classes or already completed a course)
  • Requesting Learning Lab
  • Requesting Work Experience/Internship(juniors/seniors on track to graduate; only during periods 7/8)
  • Teacher-initiated request (formal process required)
  • Missing a Prerequisite

Schedule Changes will not be made For:
  • Changing Lunch Periods
  • Having Class with Friends
  • Changed your Mind
  • Teacher Preference (address concerns with the Principal)
  • Disliking a Class
  • Being Enrolled in a Class you didn’t Request

How to Request a Change:

Please Note:

  • Parent/guardian permission is required
  • LHS Counselors will review requests and follow up, if needed
  • All updates will be posted in ParentVue/StudentVue
  • Late requests will not be accepted
